Marks Race

The Permanent Marks Circumnavigation Race is open to all yachts that have registered for the Anacortes Yacht Club distance & buoy races and have a race packet.  The event consists of a race around all the permanent marks installed and maintained by AYC..  Other than the rounding the specified marks no course is specified.  The race details are as follows:

 DATE 13:30 - Saturday, Oct 16, 2010
 START LINE Between R2 and Refinery Pier
 COURSE

 Must in any order pass outside of all eight (8) AYC
 permanent race marks as listed in Appendix B of the
 race packet - NW, N, NE, E, SE, S, SW and W.  The
 marks G3, R2 and T2 listed in Appendix B of the
 race packet are not considered AYC marks for this
 race and are NOT part of the course.

 FINISH LINE      Between R2 and Refinery Pier

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note that this event will be scored using time-on-time unlike other weekend distance races.  It s left to the skipper to decide which order to round the marks and which direction to cross the start line, noting however that once you cross the start/finish line you cannot re-cross it until finishing or you will be disqualified.  Boats however can finish in a different direction from how they started.
