The boat was designed by IOR designer Phillipe Briand for Jeanneau yachts in France, and sold world wide as the Jeanneau "Sun Fizz".  O'Day and Jeanneau were owned by the same conglomerate and the boat was built and sold here in the U.S. as the O'Day 39 beginning in 1981.  120 boats were built here in the U.S. then it was redesigned by Hunt & Associates as the O'Day 40.  It is out of production since 1986.

An O'Day 39 built in 1982.  We are the second owners.
