Notice of Race
Invitation: The Anacortes Yacht Club invites all yacht owners who meet eligibility requirement to enter the 2008 Windermere Regatta. Registration will be via email, the downloadable mail-in form or in person at the Anacortes Yacht Club, 504 Seventh Street, Anacortes, WA 98221 Friday, June 13 from 1700 to 2100. Mailed in registrations must be received by Friday, June 1st.
Qualifier: The Windermere Regatta is a qualifying event for the 2008 Seattle Yacht Club Grand Prix.
Rules: The Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 as modified by the sailing instructions will govern this regatta.
Eligibility:
- All boats must have a valid PHRF/NW Certificate. A copy of the certificate must be included with registration.
- All boats must meet Pacific International Yachting Association (PIYA) Category III requirements and must have a signed copy of PIYA regulations aboard. Copies of the regulation may be obtained at http://www.ussailing.net/piya/.
- All boats must have completed and turned in an AYC Registration Form that includes an AYC Statement of Waiver.
Classes: Classes will be established by the Race Committee based on the number of entries, PHRF rating and other factors at the committee’s discretion. The Cruising division (no spinakers/flying sails) will have a separate course and a PHRF rating will be assigned to each boat by the Race Committee.
Course: The course will be around windward-leeward buoys positioned east of Guemes Island. Saturday, June 14, racing will start at 10am. No race will be started after 4pm. Sunday, June 15, racing will start at 10am. No race will start after 3pm. There will be as many races on Saturday and Sunday as the wind allows.
Entry Fees: The entry fee is $65 if received by June 1st, $85 thereafter. US Sailing members receive a $5 discount.
Food and Drink: Food and No-Host bar service will be available at the Anacortes Yacht Club Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Alcohol will not be served to anyone less than 21 years of age. ID will be required. The dinner Saturday night starts at 6:30pm, is $10/person and must be paid with the registration fee. One dinner and one T-shirt is included in your registration fee. Dinner Friday is "$3 buck burger" night; Saturday's dinner is flank steak, baked potato with all the fixin's, green salad, dessert, and $1 dollar beers in the tent; Sunday is free chili and hot dogs after racing. Saturday and Sunday morning the Club will be open at 7am for coffee and donuts.
Champagne will be handed out to all participating yachts after the racing Sunday.

Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions will be distributed via the website prior to the race and in the race packets available at sign in. Fleet splits and divisions will be announced at the skipper meeting to be held at 0800 Saturday at the Anacortes Yacht Club.
Awards: Awards will be presented at the closing dinner at the Anacortes Yacht Club after the finish of racing on Sunday evening. Door prizes will be handed out at the dinner on Saturday night.
Moorage: Guest moorage is available in Cap Sante Boat Haven. Boats registered to race are eligible for FREE MOORAGE for up to one week. Please call the marina office at 360-293-0694 or on VHF channel 66A between 0700 and 1700 for slip assignments prior to arrival. For after hour’s emergencies call port security at 360-661-5000 or VHF Channel 66A.
