Race Description
The Northern Century consists of a 100nm course, departing Anacortes up to Point Roberts, then crossing the south end of the Strait of Georgia, transiting Boundary Pass and Haro Strait, then around the Hein Bank bouy and back to Anacortes finishing off Shannon Point.

The race will be scored using time-on-distance (100nm) and there will be two divisions:
Division #1 - Double-Handed Yachts
Division #2 - Fully Crewed Yachts
The race start will be administered by the AYC race committee. The double-handed division will start at 1930, followed ten (10) minutes later at 1940 by the fully crewed division. Thereafter the race committee will not be present on the course.
Each competitor MUST record their own finish time (based on GPS time) and report their results by telephone to 360-708-8516 within three hours of finishing. Yachts not finished by 1600 on Sunday, Aug 30 will be scored DNF. Competitors that withdraw are required to report their withdrawal to the race committee by telephone or they will be disqualified (DSQ).
Note that there will not be a short-course due to lack of wind (ie, no half-way times). You either finish or you don't...
