Reporting

All AYC races are governed based on GPS time. GPS time is defined as the time reported by your GPS after it has acquired a proper signal. GPS time is highly accurate (within milliseconds) given that it is the foundation of how the global positioning system works.

Each boat is required to take its own GPS finish time unless specifically noted in the sailing instructions or instructed not to by the race committee. If the race committee is not present at the finish the first boat to finish in each class is encouraged to record times of subsequent finishers. They may pass this duty on to lower finishing boats if mutually agreed upon.

Finish times for Wednesday night buoy races must be turned in within one (1) hour of the race committee boat's return to the dock.

Finish times for all other events must be turned in within two (2) hours following the race time limit.

You can report your finish time in one of the following ways:

  1. E-mail your finish time to Kyle Saum
  2. Call in your finish time to Kyle Saum at 360-303-2509 (let it ring to leave a message);

Note that it is your responsibility to report your finish time in a timely manner - if you fail to report your finish time within the prescribed time limit following the race you may not be scored.
